Wow…Thank you!!!1
Ha. I’m so stoked to have my blog as the Featured Blog. Ever since I was a baby I wanted this dream to come…well, ever since I found out about MLB.com/Blogs so thanks!!
Now about the one and only Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Southern California. The name still trips me out. So man, what a close weekend series with the “Canadians”, the Toronto Blue Jays. First off, I was so glad to see my little boy blue David Eckstein back at the stadium. He’s done so much for the organization when he was here so thank you and glad you got that well deserved standing ovation. I don’t know what’s up with our team lately, but we’ve been getting some decent ground work and winning these games very close. I know we’ve brought up Woods, Rodriguez, and Rivera to take care of those positions and they are doing a great job. Big ups to Sean Rodriguez for his first Major League Home Run. I remember when I did my first home run….back when I bought Ken Griffey Jrs. Home Run Derby on my Super Nintendo, so I imagine it was the same feeling of pride and accomplishment. And Mr. Howie Kendrick, welcome back to the field. I’m going to have to say I did miss you. Again, purely hetero. When players go on the DL, you tend to get worried about how your team is going to do. Especially when you have people like Howie, Figgins, and Aybar out. But we’ve been doing decent without them. As long as we are winning games that’s all that matters to me.
Next up, the Mariners. We’ll take this series. Guarentee. If not, then I will show up at the next Angel Homestand and wear a Rally Monkey/Gorilla Costume if we don’t. Ichiro is a scary dude both offensivly and defensively, but we got him covered. Another blog momentarily, I’m still on my high about my blog being featured. Oh yeah, and my tied to the hip Angel-Fan Kim, I know you think this isn’t me, but it is. I want to personally thank you for always going to games with me, even though you like the Yankees, but thank you for cheering our team on. As always, later days everyone.
Come on Angel Fans!! GET ROWDY!!! WITHOUT THE SCOREBOARD!!
So this has been bugging me a whole lot lately and I don’t know if it’s like this at a lot of other stadiums or what, but we gotta get noisy at the game. What is everyone afraid of? Looking like an idiot? I go to games and the visiting fans cheer louder than we do and that’s embarrassing. What’s also embarrassing is that we have a scoreboard to tell us that they can’t hear us and to cheer but it’s for like 5 seconds and it’s at a bare minimal. If you go to Angelsbaseball.com Message Board, I wrote a little discussion about it. Yeah, our team isn’t doing anything to cheer for one person said. But we are in FIRST PLACE!! That isn’t an easy task. The players need us there to cheer for them. Make it a fun time when you go to the game. I’m not saying be annoying or anything but make friends when you go. Talk to people and eventually you won’t feel like an idiot. So cheer when you go to the games. Yell, scream, say funny chants, heckle the visiting team, do it all. Just I’m tired of Dodger, Red Sox, Yankee fans coming over here and being louder than us. It’s ridiculous.
What is my point? My point is that Tonight, Section 237 Row F is going to be one of the loudest sections in the stadium. That’s my quarentee and I’m sticking to it. See you at the game.
Weaver Tweeks His Game…
So tonight is the opening series against the Blue Jays. I’m not nervous at all. A Blue Jay? Who’s scarred of a Blue Jay? Unless you have Ornithophobia. Google it. Anyhoozle, Weaver said in an interview that he’s been working hard on his mechanics and hopefully that will give him an extra boost to his game. We’ll see tonight. Weaver is 4-5 with an ERA of 4.16. Also on the agenda for this blog are our injuries. Most of our key players are out on the DL due to some minor problems. Aybar is healing his finger after that nasty fall in his series against the Twins I believe. Kendrick was at Salt Lake playing two games this week so hopefully he’ll be coming to the swing of things. And there’s Chone ‘The Little Engine That Could’ Figgins. Figgins is on a day to day 24 hr watch. I’m praying to the baseball Gods to watch out and take care of him. He has a sore hamstring and Scioscia didn’t rule out the DL anytime soon. I don’t know what’s worse, watching your team get into some tight spots while there’s nothing you can really do at the moment, or knowing the fact that the DL is looking straight at you like a Black Mamba looks at it’s prey, or even Kobe Bryant. If you haven’t seen the video jumping over a pool of Black Mamba YouTube it, funniest thing you’ll see.
Well that’s it for the meantime. I’m high off the fact the All-Star game is in 2 years. See you at the game and GO ANGELS!!!
A Day Off…
Yes folks, our boys in Red and Blue are taking the day off after they recover from this weeks series… Man did the Tigers come roaring at us last night. I didn’t think they had it in them. Especially with Magglio’s hair looking the way it does. It’s like a giant Gerri Curl or however you spell it. I was sitting in section 131 Row A on Tuesday and I just found it really creepy that every time I looked up, Magglio was staring at me. I don’t know if it was my nice Southern Californian Tan or my boyish good looks (I wish) but it really creeped me out. Luckily my boy Vladdy swung on out and would do his typical tip of the cap to me. He actually pointed at me and we had that eye contact and lock eyes. It’s kind of funny because every baseball fan wants that moment. The one where you look at your favorite player(s) and have that instant connection. They know you’re there for them, and you know they are there for you. That’s what I like about this organization. We don’t have any stuck up players who anyone on the team that just doesn’t care about the fans. Heck, I remember one time at the Quakes game I went to watch Weaver pitch and he was kinda sticking around saying hi to people when you clearly knew he just wanted to get home. I can’t blame the guy. It’s a good club and one of the reasons why this team is so great. And from what I hear, our new acquisition Tori Hunter is one of the nicest and most personal-able guys I’ve read about and seen. We always locked eyes…in that purely heterosexual way of course. Ha. May the team get all the rest they need so we can sweep the Blue Jays.
P.S. Good Q & A with Yahoo sports on Tori Hunter about the move from Minnesota to the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. Good times had. Later days.
Have any plans in 2 years?
So if anyone who lived under a rock game out today, turns out the city of Anaheim, CA will be hosting the All Star game in 2010. So what does it mean to me? It means I have a party to go to in 2 years. It means I can finally go to the 3 day expo and meet some of my favorite players. It means I’m going to be broke in 2 years and 2 months after I spend the money for these tickets. It’s awesome. These is great news and I’m happy to be around for it….
The game starts in 20 minutes and I hope we can sweep out the Tigers, hopefully by another blown pitch by the Tigers. It’s been an exciting series. It’s been more nerve racking than wondering if that one night stand is going to call you in a month…not that I know what that feeling is. Just from a friend who told me…
The Beginning of it all….
So what’s happening party people. I guess the first thing to blog about would be me. I’ve been an Angel fan practically my whole life. Yes, I’m sure many of you heard that before but when I came out of the womb I was bleeding Angel Red. Sure, go ahead and mock me and say that everyone bleeds red when they come out of the womb because it’s a scientific fact, but it goes beyond that. I can remember in 1986 the Angels were almost to the World Series, but Boston took that dream away. I was less than one year old, and I hated the Red Sox. My first few words were not ‘I Love Da Da’ or ‘Mama feed me” it was “Red Sox die’. And they came close to it when Bill Buckner did that dreaded mistake that cost them the game. I did that. I made that happen. My first Angel Game was in ’94 up in the nose bleeds at the then named Edison field. Chili Davis was just acquired and everything looked well. I’ve been there since the ups and the downs, such as Disney buying the team and giving us those retarded looking uniforms. No offense Disney, but stick with desiging fun, not Jerseys. But that’s pretty much my history. I go to almost every home game and I’m that idiot yelling at the Visiting team saying things such as “So and So can’t read!” or chanting their middle names. I’m that guy…But I’ll be blogging all season look. I have another blog site that deals with everything else but this is stricly for my love of the Angels. Angels or nothing.
xoxo
